Sophie has been with Narthex since March 2020 when she started as a foodbank volunteer, when many existing volunteers were isolating due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now an employed member of the team, Sophie co-manages the foodbank operation with her main role involving the recruitment and supervision of volunteers both at the distribution warehouse in Tyseley and the teams based out in our satellite foodbanks.

Sophie prides herself in being a key team member through motivating and empowering volunteers, also in ensuring that our clients are given a dignified and respectful experience when they come through our doors. She has an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Criminology and has always had a keen ambition to be in a line of work where she can help others and make a real difference to people’s lives. She has great passion in all the work that Narthex does and is committed to supporting our clients to the best of her ability.
